More about the MORMON TRAIL MAP

On Christmas Day, 2013 my gift to myself was to sit down and at last begin in earnest to create the MORMON TRAIL MAP, detailing the Mormon Trail from Nauvoo, Illinois to Salt Lake City, Utah, including pioneer history and places that can be visited today. Amazingly, I had been "preparing" to make this map since 1978. It is a tribute to tens of thousands of Saints who crossed the plains to Utah from 1846 until 1869. This includes my own ancestors, Great-Great Grandpa Peder Nielsen and family, Great-Great Grandpa Samuel Gadd, who died on the plains of Nebraska with the ill-fated Willie Handcart Company, and Great Grandpa George Josiah Marsh, who traveled left Nauvoo in 1846, and finally emigrated to Salt Lake City in 1852 at the age of 22. Somehow I've had this map idea in my head for all these years and always knew that one day I just HAD to make it. Yet until 2014 I was "genealogy-challenged" and knew nothing about my own pioneer heritage! But with perfect timing, the map came together beautifully. The work included firsthand experience on the trail and much inspiration from my ancestors. My MORMON TRAIL MAP is 37.5" x 25", folds to 4" x 8.5", and is printed on waterproof, extremely durable synthetic paper.

After 36 years in the making, my MORMON TRAIL MAP is complete. It will guide you and tell you the amazing story of the Mormon Exodus, which is one of the great chapters of American history. Whether or not you desire to trace the Mormon Trail by car, or bike, or even if you want to pull a handcart across a piece of Wyoming or Utah, this map will guide and inspire you, and help you to understand how amazing the Mormon Pioneers really were. By now you can purchase your map at fine LDS retailers, on Amazon, or buy it right now on this website. In fact, you should buy several, to make sure you gift a few other family members and friends! Retailers who wish to sell in their stores may email me at frank@pioneermaps.com to order maps.

I am Frank Nielsen, great-great grandson of Mormon Pioneers, and professional map man at your service, I would be glad to provide a fabulous copy of my beautiful Mormon Trail Map for you!
